   Relationships:

   • Jasper met Alice and instantly fell for her. They joined the Cullen Coven together and later got married. 
   • He loves his surrogate family and will always be loyal to them. Carlisle and Esme opened him with open arms, as did Rosalie, Emmett and Edward. 
   • He is close to Hope and aims to help her control her thirst as he has had experience with new borns.

   Strengths:

   • Jasper has the power of pathokinesis. He has the ability to change and feel the emotions of others. 
   • He has an exceptional amount of knowledge on newborn vampires and this comes in handy when they are confronted with them it also helps the family deal with Hope’s personality when she is changed.  

   
   Weaknesses:

   • Jasper often comes across as cold because he has a very militaristic nature.
   • Jasper has the least control over the Cullens until Hope joins the family. He finds it very hard to be around Bella when she is human.

   Past:

   Jasper Whitlock was the youngest major in the Confederate Army of Texas until he was turned into a vampire by a woman called Maria and two other vampires called Lucy and Nettie. Maria used Jasper and other newborns to reclaim her territory. Jasper was responsible for disposing the new borns who failed to prove that they were useful. When he was turned he found that he could feel and manipulate other people’s emotions, this made it harder for him to kill the newborns. 

   At one point Jasper let two newborns go and Maria’s feelings for him changed. He began to plot how to kill her. Eventually he just left her and joined the newborns he let escape. He did not find peace with the new coven because he could feel the emotions of the humans he killed. He left them and then ran into a diner and found Alice.
